Recently referred to our Steps 2 Success programme for support? Here’s what to expect

Steps 2 Success is an exciting opportunity for you to build upon your current skills and experience to find work. The employment programme lasts between 12 and 18 months. During this time you will receive personalised support from one of our dedicated Steps 2 Success Employment Consultants who will help and encourage you to achieve your job goals and gain employment.

How we will help you find work

You’ll be assigned a dedicated Employment Consultant who will discuss your interests, needs, goals and your existing skills and will work with you to create a personal action plan to help you in your journey into work.

We do this by:

  • One-to-one coaching

  • Confidence building and self-motivation

  • CV writing and job search support

  • Help with job applications and interview techniques

  • On-the-job work experience

  • Practical skills and training development

  • Self-employment services

  • On-going support after returning to work

  • Develop a personal action plan

Practical skills to help you grow in your job

We provide work experience in our Employment Training Centres in a range of sectors and roles to enhance your skills and experience such as:

  • Catering

  • Construction

  • Maintenance (painting and decorating)

  • Warehousing

  • Fork-lift operation

  • Security

  • Retail

Our goal is to help all participants on Steps 2 Success find a job that meets their needs and aspirations – and we work with a wide network of local and national employers to help match participants to local job opportunities.

Self Employment

We know how important it is to support and foster people’s entrepreneurial ideas. If you think that you have a great business idea but don’t know where to start, we can help.

We’ve put together a network of experienced partners who specialise in helping people to become self-employed or start up their own business. These carefully selected partners will provide tailored support and guide you through everything you need to get going.

From developing your business plan to the ins and outs of promoting your new business, you’ll receive training and guidance on:

  • Formulating a business plan

  • Market research

  • Funding and potential government loans

  • Basic bookkeeping and financial forecasting

  • Understanding tax and VAT

  • Marketing and making the most of social media

Whatever your business idea or dream is, you’ll be supported throughout with personalised training, guidance and mentoring.
